The CCRA Board Meeting was held on April 26, 2020 via the Zoom Teleconference Service. Meeting was called to order by Chair, Vicki Zumwalt at 1:05 PM and ended at 1:50 PM.
Attendees: Trevor Hall, WA6JAU; Steve Overacker, WA6HAM; Jan Overacker, KC6ZKS and Vicki Zumwalt, N6KLS.
Agenda and Discussion:
1. Treasury Report
All bills are paid and as of 3/31/2020 the balance in the CCRA bank account was $3726.05. How does this compare with 2018 and 2019 balances? Our balance remains almost the same over the last three years although we have seen a decline in membership. The reason for the same balance is we had a generous donation of approximately $500.00 from one of our members. A big thank you to the donor who asked to remain anonymous.
Discussion on why we have a membership decline took place. We do have some ill members that are unable to rejoin our group. Others have moved out of the area or became a Silent Key. We have canvassed other ham radio groups regarding this and it appears they have membership issues as well. It may be a sign of the times and we are saddened by the loss of members and hope that our current members will do some recruitment to increase our ranks.
2. Equipment Requirements
No equipment requirements at this time or slated for future. However as a heads up, should we need a new repeater (note previous Kregor Peak repeater failure), it will take most of the current treasury to replace it. Trevor believes the repeater will stay operational so keep your fingers crossed that we are good. Through the work of our Technical Chair, Trevor Hall he has been tinkering and fixing our machines to keep them running for a long time. At present the 440 MHz Highland Peak repeater is not linked, however at some point Trevor will be working on this and it is on his future list to handle. Thank you Trevor for your continued help and support to the CCRA.
3. Executive Board Membership
Through the loss of some board members we found we needed to shore up our executive board. Several members names were brought forward for consideration and will be approached in the future to see if they would be willing to serve on the CCRA Board. After discussion, we all felt Brad, K6JPR and Diana Sage, KA6TZU would be excellent replacements until the next election. In speaking to them about joining the board they agreed that Brad will be the interim VP and Diana will fill the open Secretarial position until the next elections. These are two dedicated individuals the board felt would conduct themselves and the job in a manner befitting the CCRA. Please thank them for accepting the request and welcome them into their new positions. We appreciate their support and interest in our group!
We are always eager to have volunteers so please speak to Vicki if you have an interest in volunteering within the CCRA. We usually find volunteer becomes “voluntold”!
Next Board Meeting: Vicki Zumwalt will set this up via Zoom on a quarterly basis.
