The Valley Emergency Repeater Association (VERA) maintains the N6QDY repeater located on Bald Mountain in Yolo County. This repeater operates on 147.255 MHz (+600 KHz); PL 123.0 Hz. Bald Mountain, which should not be confused with Bald Peak in Contra Costa, is located in western Yolo County 20 miles northwest of Woodland, California. The altitude of the radio site is @1900 ft and has a commanding view of the Sacramento Valley providing portable coverage from Chico in the north to Lodi in the south. This repeater is operated and maintained by a group of hams who live in the Sacramento area.
