Highland Peak is located in southern Contra Costa County near the City of San Ramon at an altitude of approximately 2600 ft.
The below video was created by Google Earth. The video starts with a birds eye view of Highland Peak and pans upwards in a northerly direction towards the Morgan Territory Road area with the City of Pittsburg in the distance. The white lines you see in the picture point to Kregor Peak to the right and Bald Peak to the left in the opening seconds of the video. The video then pans from north to west looking at Mt. Diablo the south central Contra Costa County cities of Alamo, Danville and San Ramon. The video continues to pans from west to south to east picking up the Alameda County areas of Pleasanton, Livermore and Altimont Pass. As the pan continues to the east you see the Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley where you will find the cities of Modesto, Stockton and Sacramento. You will also see the Contra Costa County cities of Brentwood, Oakley and Antioch. The video ends where we started the 360 degree pan with Pittsburg in sight.
