ATC – ComSites West has less than smooth Mount Diablo Transition

The April 1, 2015, ComSites West takeover of the America Tower Corporation (ATC) Mount Diablo South Peak tower site facility did not go as planned.

Comsites West reports at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, March 31st ATC disabled and removed major components of the site master RX combiner system as well as disabling the site back-up generator by removing the oil and filter from the generator and putting the auto transfer switch in “program mode” before removing and taking the transfer switch key.

On Wednesday, April 1st, ATC admitted to the Comsites West attorney that they had, in fact, done these things and would restore everything by Thurs at 1pm.  ComSites West refused to accept that delay and insisted ATC restore everything immediately.  ATC responded that it was not convenient for them to do so until 1 pm on Thursday.

ComSites West reportedly was doing everything to temporarily restore the master RX system.  ComSites West stated, “If ATC does not restore the generator by 1PM tomorrow we will implement other options to insure the well-being of our customers and their communications systems.”

It is absolutely amazing that ATC would jeopardize the operations of multiple communication systems at a major San Francisco radio site by intentionally disabling and removing major components of the site master RX combiner system as well as disabling the site back-up generator by removing the oil and filter from the generator and putting the auto transfer switch in “program mode” before removing and taking the transfer switch key.
