On December 6th, Jan, KC6ZKS and Steve, WA6HAM attended the Marin Amateur Radio Society Christmas Party at their club house in Mill Valley, CA.  The club house banquet hall is located in a converted fire station and was beautifully decorated with Christmas lights and a tree.

The meal was amazing.  There was turkey, ham, au gratin, mashed and sweet potatoes, biscuits, green beans, gravy, ice cream, pie, cake and who knows what else to feast upon…it was good!

There was gifts for everyone and special awards.  Doug Slusher, KF6AKU received Life Membership with the club for all of his hard work over the years with the club repeaters and club.  Rita Brenden, KG6WPN received the Ham of the Year Award for all of her hard work with the club.  The reason I mention Doug and Rita (How could I also not mention Randy Jenkins, KA6BQF?)  is they also support and attend the CCRA breakfast on a regular basis.  MARS and the CCRA clubs have had a number of events where we have supported each other.

Jan and I had a great visit with this outstanding group of HAMS of MARS and would encourage everyone to attend next year…it will be well worth your effort!
